Leadership Camp

I've just returned from three days away on leadership camp with school, and I am so immensely happy to be home.
I mean, it's not that it was a bad camp, but I just don't particularly enjoy being away from home with people I don't know very well, in a place I've never been before. It's a little intimidating.

We stayed at a boarding college at the Uni, which was nice, though the ground floor smelt like pee. The rooms featured a bed, desk, chair, bookshelf, built-in wardrobe and an internet connection. How sad. I could have brought my laptop. =(

Lucky for the majority of the residents, Uni doesn't start until the end of February, so most were still on holiday... We're not exactly a quiet bunch...lol
We participated in many pointless (in my opinion) activities, and ate five meals a day. At least they didn't starve us. haha

I located a piano in the dining hall which I 'claimed'. Sure, it needed a good tune, but it wasn't that bad. So I spent the majority of mealtimes tinkering with that.

Probably the highlight of all the activities was the trust workshop. The final activity we did involved a person standing on the edge of a chair, which was placed on top of a desk, and falling backwards into the arms of the other class members. Talk about an adrenaline rush!
It was pretty cool, although when the teacher first got up on the chair I was a little concerned for her safety. lol

Last night, we all participated in a '$5 Formal', meaning our outfit must cost no more than $5. I wore a feed sack, and finished off the look with some lovely hay for my hair.

We paraded our outfits and then held a talent concert. However, after the first concert item, the stereo was hijacked, and a nice, controlled evening turned into a full scale, screaming, moshing circle of girls whom would let no-one turn the music down. It wasn't really my kind of party, and the noise was getting too much for me, so I decided to move a safe distance away from the mosh pit that was the rest of my grade.

When my friends were finished playing 'crazy people' with the others, we were given permission to leave for bed early, as it was apparent that the others were no-where near finished.
Needless to say, they were all very tired this morning.

So I am now home, and am no longer suffering forom internet withdrawal. Life is good.
I shall post pictures of my lovely feed sack dress once I retrieve them from my friends.
